The following is an interview between patient #2156 and their attending physician, Dr. Robert Blake. All materials are property of the Willow Village Asylum.

Dr. Blake: How do you feel today?

Patient #2156: I’m tired, so very tired.

Dr. Blake: That’s okay. Sometimes being tired can be a good thing.

Patient #2156: It doesn’t feel good to me to be this tired. I feel like my bones need to sleep. It’s like they are creaking because they need rest.

Dr. Blake: Maybe you will feel better after you get some sleep then.

Patient #2156: No…I don’t think I will.

Dr. Blake: What do you mean? Is there something wrong with how you have been sleeping Tom?

Patient #2156: That’s when they come.

Dr. Blake: There are people that come to find you when you try and sleep?

Patient #2156: No, that’s crazy, I am safe here. Sleep is when I have the bad thoughts.

Dr. Blake: Tell me about these bad thoughts.

Patient #2156: Do I have to?

Dr. Blake: Of course not, this is a safe place. You don’t have to do anything that you don’t want too. I am simply trying to help, that’s all.
I’m on your side.

Patient #2156: The bad thoughts come from the other side. Did you know that?

Dr. Blake: Oh? Do you want to elaborate?

Patient #2156: The side that is not the side we see. That is where the bad thoughts all come from. The same place as the threads.

Dr. Blake: Do you want to tell me about these “Threads” then?

Patient #2156: If you talk about the threads, that makes them real.

Dr. Blake: They aren’t real?

Patient #2156: They are real to everyone. You all just can’t see them. You all live in a lie.

Dr. Blake: Maybe we should talk about something else, so that you don’t have to think about all of this.

(There is a uncomfortable silence and I hear someone scrawling something down with a pen.)

Patient #2156: I like trees.

Dr Blake: Tell me about the trees then.

Tom: They all start so small. Just right there in the dirt. They are nothing, but then boom. Just wait a few years and suddenly they are more amazing than anyone thought that they would ever be.

Dr. Blake: That’s right. Are you a tree?

Patient #2156: No. That’s silly. I am a human person. I am not made of wood.

Dr. Blake: So you are like a tree ?

Patient #2156: I could have been, I should have been. I should have been left alone. I would have grown big and strong. I would have been amazing. The most magnificent tree. I wish you would stop speaking to me.

Dr. Blake: Who stopped you from growing?

Patient #2156: Everyone.

Dr. Blake: Why do you think that they did that to you?

Patient #2156: Because they were scared of what they saw. They were scared of what I was going to become. Cowards. Every last one of them. They couldn’t begin to comprehend.

Dr. Blake: What is it that you were going to become?

Patient #2156: The most wonderful sight that anyone has ever seen.

Subject: Thomas Morrow

Time since acquisition: 1 year, 4 months, 16 days.

The patient shows a strong mental clarity but only at random times. His physical ticks have all but ceased in the time that we have been treating him. It is unclear whether or not he is still seeing things. This interview is not one of his times of clarity. He seemed to be in even more of a daze than usual.

He seems mildly aware of his gifts, his abilities, whatever it is that you would like to call them. The medication seems to be doing a good job at suppressing them however.

According to Thomas Morrow, he can see things that other people can’t. Things that aren’t supposed to be there. His response to these things have been… Concerning.

He claims that the things that he sees that are part of a larger scheme of things. Connections are what he calls them. Claims everyone and everything is connected in some way. He also claims that there is someone altering these connections.

We found him after he had assaulted three people outside of a grocery store. He was screaming that they had changed and that it was impossible to save them. He claimed that their connections were altered and they would end up dying because of it.

Just out of curiosity, I kept the names of those three individuals. I did my best to look them up a few weeks later and was unable to find them. Their families and friends had filed missing persons reports but they had simply vanished without a trace.

The patient has no immediate family members that we can find. No friends. In fact the only reason we even know his name is because of a barcode on the back of his neck.

Someone was studying him, or maybe even somehow created him? I am not sure how long that we will be able to medicate and keep him locked up here. This is a place where these kinds of people get hidden away.

This place is nothing but a hole where unfortunate people are locked away before someone tosses the key out of a third story window.

My point is that we are about as clandestine as it gets, and well, the barcode is what is bothering me. That barcode means someone above even our clearance did this. Someone who has a authority far higher than anything we are running with here.

Here I was thinking that we were at the top.

We have no idea how he came to be, or what kind of program he is a part of. Is he some kind of weapon? How dangerous is he? Did they make it so that he sees the things that he does? Or did they find him because he sees those things?

I recommend upping his dosage on all his medication. As well as round the clock surveillance, that last part goes without saying considering where we are, but still.
