There is a lighthouse that sits atop desolate mountains of stone, It sits in a place where the air is so frigid… it would chill any mere man to the bone.

This structure was not there to guide ships from the mortal realm. It was placed there for a unique ship, one with a frightful captain at its helm.

A captain who was once a normal man,
A member of a simple northern clan.
A man with a beautiful child and loving wife,
A soul who once lived a simple life.

One day that man left to gather wood,
This was his final day of fatherhood. He had left his wife and child at home asleep, when he remembers this day it makes him softly weep.

He saw smoke on the horizon and he quickly rushed back, then suddenly everything simply faded away into darkest of black. Alas, he was too late for his family, although just in time for his death. His blood stained emerald grass, as he let out one final breath.

The man never witnessed who was responsible for this cowardly attack, the assailant whose blade had violently plunged deep into his back.

He awoke, screaming in anger and despair.
Fire, smoke, and the smell of flesh filled the air. Piercing yellow eyes gazed out at him from deep in an endless dark. Then a voice spoke… told him he was perfect and the easiest mark.

It told him it required the soul of a man who had departed before his time, who was ripped from the world in his prime. A man who has lost something, A man who once had everything, but was now left with nothing.

It needed this soul of a man to command a ship, yet this was no one sided bargain.
For this demon held the soul of the mans wife and child in a firm grip. A spark in its eyes then appeared, as he spoke, the flames in the air seemed to darken.

If the man accepted his terms, his loved one’s souls he would then release. This was the only way his family shall ever know true peace. But in return, his soul eternal was the fixed price. His captor then spoke of another perk, his language was now concise.

This was no ordinary ferry.
The souls of the damned is what this vessel did carry. It was all part of a larger scheme.
This ship would be filled with endless voices releasing their final scream.

Now came the part that seized the mans undivided attention, the flames of revenge in his eyes now seemed to glisten. One day this vessel shall carry the soul of the man who was responsible for ending his life. This was how he would avenge his child and wife.

Now as this ships captain, a man sails along a vast and endless ocean of blue. He waits patiently for one who hasn’t the faintest clue.
He is waiting for the day when he ferries this specific soul, a soul that will pay far more than the ordinary toll.

There is a lighthouse that sits atop desolate mountains of stone. It guides a man who knew a happiness that few have ever known. It sits there for a captain who once knew love. A feeling he now knows nothing of.

It is a beacon for a man who forever ferries lost souls seeking eternal rest. A captain who now waits patiently for a passenger whom he shall deny that request.
